Some BackgroundI established Digitalis Design in 1998 after spending 5 years working for an independent music/publishing/film company as their art director and in-house designer. My role was varied and I was responsible for the design and artwork production of print collateral for music product, video packaging and some book design.
This period provided a solid basis working with industry-standard design software
and in-depth knowledge of print processes across a broad range of projects.
Soon the internet started becoming an important medium, opening up new possibilities for businesses and organisations to reach a wider audience than ever before. I was eager to expand my knowledge and skills and be part of this online revolution. Being passionate about design I embraced the challenge that comes with designing for the web. By 2000 I had followed opportunities, and immersed myself in learning how to design and build websites.
By 2004 I had increasing numbers of clients wanting websites and implemented my own hosting and domain services to more easily manage these aspects if required.
The ProcessWorking with small businesses as an independent designer means I can provide unique solutions tailored exactly to a client's needs - they get the personal touch and attractive pricing. With the marketplace becoming evermore competitive it is vital for companies and individuals to have an online presence, but at an affordable cost.
New projects, whether for print or web (or both) start with initial consultation and briefing with the client. This is the foundation from which I work to establish the style and feel that the client wants to present. Creatively I have the versatility to design across a broad range of styles, thus enabling
me to deliver good design across various sectors.
CurrentIn recent years I have kept pace with developments and emerging technologies and continue to be enthusiastic about delivering elegant and inspired solutions.
